The Original Karastan Collection was introduced in 1928. Then as now, the technology itself was marvelous; a custom loom designed to weave through the back and capture, utter, the look of a hand-knotted Oriental. To reflect not just the intricacy of design, but the subtle nuances of color gentled with age. And to do it all in a rug durable enough to last for generations. As always, Original Karastan Collection designs are inspired by classical Persian motifs, prized antiques and museum pieces. Colors are saturated, with glowing jewel tones.
